How it works
Wall vents take about 45–60 minutes, roof vents 60–90. Here's the whole appointment.
- 1
Book online
Pick roof or wall vent, a date and a two-hour window. Confirmation by email and text in seconds.
- 2
We arrive and test
Text when we're on the way. We confirm the vent exit, lay a drop cloth and take a baseline airflow reading at the cap.
- 3
Disconnect and inspect
The dryer comes out, the transition hose comes off, and we check it for crushing, lint and improper material.
- 4
Rotary brush + HEPA vacuum
Flexible rods and a nylon brush scrub the full duct while the vacuum captures the lint. We work from both ends on roof vents.
- 5
Clear the exterior cap
Matted lint, screens and nests removed. Flapper freed. Photos before and after.
- 6
Reconnect, test, show you
Hose sealed, dryer back in place, after reading taken. We show you the lint and anything you should know about.
- 7
Pay when done
Card, cash, Zelle or Venmo. Receipt with airflow numbers and photos lands in your inbox.
Common questions about the visit
What happens during a dryer vent cleaning appointment?
We confirm the vent exit, pull the dryer out and disconnect the transition hose, attach a high-powered vacuum, and run a rotating brush through the full duct length. We clear the exterior cap, reconnect the hose, test airflow before and after, and show you the lint we removed.
How do you measure airflow?
We use an anemometer at the exterior cap or a manometer at the dryer. A healthy 4-inch dryer vent moves exhaust at roughly 1,200–1,800 feet per minute; a restricted one may be under 500. We note the before and after numbers on your receipt.
Will you move my dryer?
Yes, we slide it out to reach the connection and slide it back when we're done. If the dryer is stacked or in a very tight closet we may clean from the exterior instead.
Do you need access to the inside of my home?
Yes for a complete job. Cleaning only from outside can push lint back toward the dryer. We need about 3 feet of space in front of the dryer.
What tools do you use for dryer vent cleaning?
A rotary brush system with flexible rods that reach 35+ feet, a HEPA-filtered vacuum, a reverse-airflow line for stubborn plugs, a camera for inspection, and an airflow meter. We don't use leaf blowers or compressed air alone, which just redistribute lint.
Do you take before and after photos?
We photograph the exterior cap before and after on every job and include them in your emailed receipt. A full camera inspection with interior duct photos is an optional $29 add-on.
Do you check for disconnected or crushed duct?
Yes. A disconnected joint behind a wall or a crushed transition hose is common. We spot it from airflow readings and camera inspection and show you before quoting any repair.
What happens if you can't clear the clog?
In rare cases of a collapsed or disconnected duct inside a wall we cannot fully clear it. You pay nothing for the cleaning and we give you a written description of the issue for an HVAC contractor.
Are your technicians insured?
Yes. We carry general liability insurance and can provide a certificate on request for condo associations and property managers.
Do you clean the vent cover outside?
Yes, every time. We remove lint from the louvers or flapper, remove any illegal screen, and make sure the damper swings freely.
